Strider (Sunny)
Strider has fit into our household like he was always there. A good brother and playmate for his older sister, Arwen, and a wonderful helpmate and friend to both of us. With his funny face and antics, he makes us laugh.

Ollie (Ali)
We adopted Ollie (Ali) in June of 2000. He is the best dog I have ever had! I don't know what it is about Ollie but he knows exactly when Saturday/ Sunday is. He wakes me up every morning @ 6am to "go get coffee". We hop in the car and head to 7-11 for coffee and a newspaper. He loves that morning ride. All the workers at the store look forward to seeing him each morning. If I don't wake up, he literally talks to me until I get out of bed. I'm glad to see all the good stories & successful rescues. These dogs are great and I'll will always have a boxer in my family. Take care.

The Ugaldes

Bella (Bubbles)
These two guys are really adapting great. I like to call Bella my "bully," because she is such a bossy little girl (in a loving way.) She tries to keep Tiger in line. I don't guess she knows that one day he'll be able to boss her around! She loves to be my center of attention, and makes a yappy bark when I love Tiger. It is so cute! I have totally gotten over my initial assessment period, where I am unsure of the dog's responses, and have hugged, wrestled, and loved all over this girl. She is such a big sweetie! Tiger and Bella tear around the yard playing chase. Bella is already very good at fetching, and yesterday we played soccer. Tiger and Bella have started "boxing" one another, and it is such a joy to watch. We blew bubbles outside the other day and they both had a good time chasing them around. Bella is such a blessing, and you are the angel that delivered her to me! I still can't believe what a treasure I found. I guess I have quickly grown addicted to Boxers! Thanks so much again, and I will keep in touch with lots of pictures in the future!

Mitch & Satin
We met Lonestar Boxer after our 15 year old loyal boxer, Bronson, passed away and about 6 months later became the proud parents of Mitch (brindle) & Satin (white). We have had them now for about 3 months. The kids, of course, are thoroughly pleased. Mitch is about the most mellow boxer we have ever seen, so polite the kids had to teach him to lick and he wouldn't dare jump -- no matter how hard you try. He loves to sneak the boys toys and play with them and will gladly roll over for a treat. He has to try REALLY hard to get attention though because Satin is the queen bee and beyond the most love starved dog in the whole world (at least that's what she thinks). She has to put her paws on your shoulders and hug or she pouts and when you have had enough she won't hear of it, your only chance then is to get stern. She is very smart -- learned to shake in 10 min, and wakes the kids up every morning by straddling them with her front paws and licking them till they get up. They look so beautiful together -- striking in real -- and if they hadn't had names we would have called them Fire & Ice, but we love them as Mitch & Satin just as well, THANK YOU SOOOOOO much Lonestar, our family is once again, after the loss of Bronson, complete.

Molly (Precious)
Just wanted to share an update with you on Molly -- even though she is precious, Molly seems to fit her better! She joined her big brother, Maverick, last December and is loved by all. She has filled out and gotten even prettier. Molly never meets a stranger -- or a stranger's dog. She is so sociable she tore a hole in my fence just to go visit my neighbor's brown Lab. When I got home from patrol that morning, they weren't at the door to greet me -- which was highly unusual. I went looking in the back yard and there was Mav's butt sticking through the fence watching Mol and the Lab have a ball. His tail was wiggling and wagging but he weighs about 65 pounds and could only fit the first 25 through the hole. Needlessly, to say I now have a new wooden fence! The two M&Ms have so much fun together -- seems like 24/7 but I know they must sleep sometime. Thanks for finding Molly for me -- she's worth a lot more than the frozen pizzas you traded for her!

Hamish (Mister)
Hamish is so happy in his new home! His favorite toy is a bright pink stuffed flamingo and his Grandma just gave him a fluffy bone that is his second favorite. He quickly became adjusted to his new home. Thank you very much for introducing us to Hamish. He is so wonderful and we love him very, very much! Doesn't he look like a new dog? His skin is almost completely cleared up and his disposition is so great. He loves everybody and he is so spoiled.

Pearl
Well, here she is - fat and sassy! She loves her ball. She and Gabby both got new collars and they are real sure they have real diamonds! Her heartworm treatment was successful, her attitude adjustments about sharing were successful, and she truly has not a care in the world. The girls get along fine now and are really happy and so am I. Pearl is truly the light of my life and I do NOT intend to ever be without a Boxer in my life again. Thank you again for trusting us with Pearl. I know it was hard for you to let her go, knowing she had been through so much.

Jake
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that Jake is alive and well and the happiest dog I've ever come across. He is such a perfect fit to our family. When we brought him home, he really made himself at home right away. My 4 year old son, Austin, and him have become best buddies...they eat together, sleep together, and play together. Jake is absolutely a doll and by far the most handsome man we've ever seen. Thank you, from all of us, for our perfect angel. You guys do a fantastic thing.

Amber, Bill, and Austin

Jasper
Jasper has been doing so much better! He has adjusted really well to our schedules and to Honey (our female boxer). They pal around together everywhere. We call them "Double Trouble". They are always into something. He's already such a big part of our family, and I can't imagine what it would be like without him! Thanks to everyone at Lone Star Boxer Rescue for helping us find Jasper! Kevin & I love him to pieces!

The Williams Family

Opal
Opal is doing wonderfully and has really blossomed as a member of our family. Opal and Jesse have become fast friends - as you can see from the photo. Please be assured that Opal will have a home with us as long as she is on this earth. We are coming to know what a very special dog she is. We wanted to thank you for all that you did for Opal before she came to live with us. Who knows what would have happened to her if your association hadn't stepped in to help.

The Rickerby Family

Lilly
Here is Lilly -- all 45 pounds of her! Lilly is so wonderful -- and she is a special dog. She had some mighty big paws to fill after we lost our 6-year-old Boxer, Star Baby, to cancer but Lilly has done the job admirably. You have to look hard to find any ribs or vertebrae now and her coat shines and her eyes sparkle. In the past eight months she has changed from a timid, shy dog who runs from loud noises to one who greets visitors (and grandkids) with a big Boxer kiss. We love her so much and thank the Lone Star Boxer Organization for finding her for us! This is truly a match made in Heaven -- by angels on earth.

The Brandenburg Family

Caesar
Caesar is a very happy member of the family. His new hip has helped him to become good-as-new and he romps and plays with his sister as well as his many stuffed toys. Caesar has started both Tracking Classes and Obedience classes and is really enjoying learning new things! Caesar wants to thank everyone who donated towards his surgery as well as the wonderful volunteers of Lone Star Boxer Rescue who chose to save him and raised the money to pay for his surgery.

Tag
We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for our newest family member, Tag! He is an absolute joy to all of us, including our nine month old female boxer, Bailey. After two weeks Bailey and Tag have become the best of friends, playing together, napping together and just entertaining one another. Rescuing Tag has been more than we ever imagined. Tag quickly adjusted to our home and family and is already protective of us. He truly lets us know how grateful he is to be in a loving home where he is well taken care of! Our boxers are our angels on earth and we are reminded daily that two are definitely better than one! Thank you again for all that you do to rescue our wonderful boxer friends!

With love, Adria and Adam Caldwell and Bailey and Tag

Who's says Boxers aren't good at Obedience? Here's a fine example of the Group Down-Stay. Fawns on the inside and Brindles on the outside, please.

Riley (Benson)
Riley really has tuned into a handsome boy -- it is amazing what a little hair will do. He is a cuddler, and many of the neighborhood children have offered to buy him for a million dollars. We still would not give him up. Our other dogs have accepted him and they all romp through the yard and house -- lots of play time! Thank you for all the wonderful work you do and thank you for this wonderful addition to our family.

Riley may be the Cutest Boxer Alive!

Missy
Missy seems to have fitted in very well!

Otis
As you can see, Otis has all of his hair and has gained his required weight. His vet is very happy and has said that Otis looks happy. Unfortunately, his regular sleeping place is our bed and his favorite lounging spot is our couch. But, how can you look at his beautiful face and say "No"? Our 7 year old cat named Mew has begun to torment Otis wihich he loves and spends his day running after her, although he has yet to catch her. Otis does not like to be left out and will whine and cry until he can be included. You could not have matched a more perfect dog. Otis is soooooo loveable and friendly that we can't imagine what our life would be without him. Once again, thank you so much for such a wonderful dogs.

Lani (Annie)
Hello, My name is Lani. I am sooo happy with my new family. Every time someone comes home, I don't just wag my tail, I wag my whole body! My parents originally adopted me to keep my mommy company while my daddy was out of town. But, when my daddy saw what a good girl I was, he fell in love with me (couldn't help himself!), and I fell in love with him too. I love my mommy and my sister (and all of her stuffed animals) too, but when daddy comes home on the weekend -- it's play time! I am a very happy girl, thanks for my new home. Lani

Thank you so much for letting us bring Lani into our lives. She is such a joy and has become a member of our family. We all love her very much.

Wanda

Angelina & Rosalyna (Faith & Angel)
I am writing is to send you a picture of my wonderful girls. They have become such a part of me, that I feel we have been together for years instead of months. Thank you so much for everything you are doing for all those helpless/homeless boxers. I have actually ran into 3 different of your rescued boxers, while thay were shopping with their new moms in petsmart. It was great to stop and chat, knowing our babies had the same roots gave us a feeling of kindred spirits. Most of all , I want to say thank you for rescueing me by rescueing my girls --Angelina and Rosalyna

Mason
Mason and Leena are best buds now. He loves to give boxer hugs! He has chosen a tennis ball as 'his toy' and relieved himself on the rest. Good thing Leena doesn't mind. They have done a lot; caught a bird, slug and toad hunting, wrestling, meeting neighbors(the pug behind us is Mason's favorite). GREAT EXPLORERS!!! I think he is trying to tell me that he wants a swimming pool. He digs in the water bowl until it's all out, then rolls around in it. He'll be getting one this weekend. I am looking into obedience classes for him to start in June, I will let you know how that works out. He will also be microchipped next week, Leena didn't even flinch when she was done. All of you are true angels for what you are doing, thank you so much.

Jessica

Nina
Nina is an absolute doll, thank you for saving her life. She is a couch potato; they say Boxers are hyper well guess what? We are extremely lazy! I don't know if she will be good at agility, but we are going to try.

Jennifer

Angie
We adopted Angie about 2 months ago. She was very timid. We worked hard to build her trust. She is part of the family now. She loves playing outside and being inside with us. Her favorite outside activity is tug-of-war with the rope and a type of "I got you last" game. She likes hanging out with us while watching tv and she has adopted an old afghan as her blanket. She'll jump on any couch that has her beloved blanket on it (it's very cute). She likes meeting new people. When we have friends over she's quite the entertainer. She rolls over and waits for the person to rub her belly. She's a little flirt. At first we were worried that she would never quite warm up, but now she is the perfect dog for us. We love having her as our pet.

Special (Sara)
All I can say is we love Special so very much and
so does Bitsey (our Boston Terrier)!

Jack (Muggs)
Hello Everyone, My name is Jack (alias Muggs) and I just wanted to bring you up to date on my new life with my new mum and newly adopted brother. My mum first saw me at my foster-mum's house and it was love at first sight. Although, I was sad to leave my foster-mum, Bridget, as she is such a nice lady and was so kind to me. I am really very happy in my new life and have lots of fun with Malachi. We play and play and play until I get completely out of breath and crash on the floor, and he STILL wants to play some more! My mum takes me for walks and I love to travel in the car especially when we drive-thru McDonalds. Sometimes I try to drive, but my mum's is not too keen on me doing that, but I will keep giving her lots of kisses, and maybe she will change her mind--she usually gives in eventually. I really want to thank the Lone Star Boxer Rescue Organization for saving me and giving me a new and a happy life. Gosh! I do love my mum a lot.

Remember, 'Angels are just Boxers with Wings'

Roo (Candy)
Roo (AKA Candy) has blended into the family beautifully! She is an absolute bundle of joy and happiness and we are blessed to have found the web site and have her in our lives! Here she is with her Pack, including her pal Sam! I can't thank Lone Star Rescue enough for suggesting her for our family, she is a perfect fit! She is a star in our neighborhood and has waged her tail into everyone's heart! The volunteers are true angels for the love and care given to these dogs! Thank you so much for bringing so much love into our lives in one little package!

Jesse
I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that Jesse is doing great. He is getting along sooo great with Maggie. The past two days have been so nice that me and my daughter and the dogs were outside most of the both days. I took a few pictures of my babies "sunning" that is one of their favorite things to do. They have already become such pals. They are so precious. Maggie had a little cut on her head and the night I caught Jesse licking it... that was the defining moment for me. I love my dogs so much and just want to thank you so much for the opportunity to help you guys out....... and thank you for helping me out. Jesse has been a wonderful addition to our family.

Honey (HoneyBun)
We really are very happy happy with Honey.  She is a joy to be with.  Its hard to believe that anyone could have even considered wanting to give her up.  However, I'm glad that they did because now she is in a happy home with lots of love.
We're still trying to figure out what kinds of toys she likes.  Squeaky toys provide only limited interest to her.  She doesn't seem interested in chewy toys, either.  We may take a trip over to Petco or Petsmart to get some other things today.  Soon, she'll have a home full of toys.

Mary
I would like to thank everyone who works at Lone Star Boxer. I appreciate all that you did to help me find the right boxer and boy did you do a great job. Mary is WONDERFUL. She has only been with us a few days but believe me she is already part of our family. You will never know how much fun and joy she has brought us. All of you at the rescue will have a place in mine and Mary's heart forever. She loves to run outside, but is more than glad to come in and curl up on the sofa. We have not had one minutes worth of trouble. She is eating fine and think she enjoys it here no separation anxiety that I can tell. Please tell Russell I will be forever grateful for the time and effort he gave Mary until I found her. If only there were more like him the world would be a better place. Thanks again for all you did.

Debbie

Elena (Penny)
We really appreciate what you did for us to match us with Elena. She's definitely smart. She learns very quickly. She and Zorro are inseparable. As soon as they wake up from a nap, they immediately look for the other one. Their favorite nap place is together on the couch, leaving almost no room for people. Even if just one of them goes to the door to ask to go outside, both have to go out. The one at the door will "look" and wait for the other one to appear at his/her side before they'll go out. When we let Zorro out of his crate in the morning or when we get home, he rushes the few feet to Elena's crate to greet her with kisses as she comes out the door. I think she's gained a little weight. She's eating well. She's a sweetie. She loves all the attention from Zorro, and loves to be cuddled and petted by us. Her temperament appears to be much like Zorro's. They are both very friendly, pretty calm for boxers and want to please. They are definitely very playful. She has been such a joy.

Draco (Barney)
Hello everybody I am sending you some pictures of myself.....I hope you will enjoy them------I am turning out to be a real handsome dog......Mom says that I have a swelled up head..I cannot help being the best looking dog in the block......

love to you all Draco ( Barney)

Aunt Mary...I received your mail....I hope you are doing fine. I remember you all the time......And how is Aunt Sil doing????

Joey
At first, I was a little apprehensive about the idea of adopting a "special needs" dog. When I got Joey, he was about 20 lbs. underweight and had a host of other problems. However, what he did have was a huge heart. All he wanted to do was be right by your side, gazing up at you with those huge brown eyes that were filled with so much love and appreciation. Fast forward to today. Now, Joey is having to watch what he eats because he's starting to get fat! His muscle build is definitely back, as he's gotten to be quite the athlete. He bounds around like a puppy.. even jumps up onto my bed like it's nothing.. not bad for an old guy! Most importantly, he still has his heart. He lives every day to give unconditional love to me and the rest of the "family". He is an amazing companion, and I am thankful for every day I get to spend with him. So much thanks to all the folks at Lone Star Boxer Rescue, and special thanks to Sunie for helping bring Joey into my life.

Bitsy
Bitsy has had a busy year; obedience classes, family visitors from afar and vacation to the beach.

She did very well in her obedience classes & I would like to take her to the next level. Took her with us to Florida for a holiday. She loved the beach, all the smells & new sights were very exciting. The water was another thing though. She will never be an avid swimmer, getting her feet wet was more than enough for her. We are planning on enrolling her in Flyball classes in the new year. She loves to play ball so I'm sure she'll excel at it.

Now that colder weather is here she loves to lay in front of the fire & keep toasty or she seeks out a sunny spot on the carpet to sleep. She is definitely the Queen of comfort.

She has a friend we meet every so often on our walks, a blue heeler, who she just loves to play with. I think she's happy in her new home.

Thanks from Bitsy and us for all you do.

Sophie
The past six months have been a blessing with Sophie. She is an angel and such a part of our family. She started out sleeping in our bedroom and now migrates up the stairs in the middle of the night to join Grace and Grant for the rest of the night. She has turned into a talker. When we come home, she meets us at the door and "talks" until we give her luvin. She has grown into a great protector of our home as well as letting us know when anyone or anything (horses, squirrels, deer, etc.) approach the house. She loves to play outside. She is content with playing in HER 2 acre back yard. Grace has taught her to give a "high five" and to "shake".

Sophie loved the flight to Lake Norfok (Baxter, AR) and was a lake hound. She actually did some relaxing in a raft on the water and shade bathed on the sandy beach.

If Sophie could speak, I am sure she would be ever so grateful for your rescuing and giving her a second chance. We feel the same way. Keep up the good work.

Love, The Pickles

Bandit (Sterling)
Is doing great. He's such a great addition to our family. We went home for our vacation and of course everybody absolutely loved him. Thanks again for letting him become part of our family. Michelle

Hope
Just wanted to let you know how Miss Hope is doing. She is causing quite a stir in the neighborhood because she is SO cute. Of course lots of sympathy for the bobo. Monday night we came home and she looked like a mud-covered little piggy and she was so pleased about it. The kids next door ran their sprinkler until our yard was a lake and Hope took advantage. We bought her a crate and she sleeps in that because the little boys won't share yet, though they are getting better. I just wanted to tell you thank you for bringing her into our lives. We don't know what we did without her.

Lilly Belle
Lilly Belle's vet told me she is the sweetest dog he has ever seen and if he could get a woman like her, he would marry her!  Thanks again for bringing her into my life.

Jane

Brutus
Just a quick little note to tell you that Brutus is doing great!  We took him to the vet yesterday and he told us that he was in great health.  He has adjusted well to his new environment and shows interest in the cats, but does not hurt them at all.  Again I want to thank you for all your help and taking such good care of our new friend.  We'll do our best to make him feel as well as you did!  Thank You again for allowing Brutus to become part of our family. We sure do love him and we are truly enjoying his company!!

Thanks again!

Tuff
"Tuff is beautiful.  I have always wanted a white boxer and my birthday is coming up.  What better birthday present than my little Tuff.  She will fit in perfectly here.  We do Foster Care for 2 legged kids and when the kids and hubby saw Tuffs picture they went crazy as I did.  Thank God hubby loves boxers as much as I do.  Boxers are absolutely the best breed there is."

"Whenever we get a new child, our boxer babies sleep in their rooms and give them extra special attention, and it helps the child feel more comfortable here while adjusting to us.  It has just amazed me how much our Boxer Babies have helped our kids that have come to live with us.  We have 2 fenced in acres of land.  I stay at home with all the babies.  She's such a blessing to this family. It's like she's always lived here with us.

The Landrums

Ruger
Just to let you know, Ruger is doing great!  He seems to be adjusting just fine.  He and Sugar (our other boxer) are getting along great!   He is definitely a lover and is full of kisses!   I teach school and am off for the summer so he is getting lots of attention and plenty of TLC.

Thank you for all that you do for all the boxers you rescue!  I would really like to keep in touch with you and your rescue efforts.  I will visit your website often to stay updated and to see all of the cuties you have up for adoption.

Thanks so much for everything!  Keep in touch.  I'll give you updates on Ruger and how he is doing.  Ruger is doing great and we love him like we have had him for years!!  He is a great dog!

Thanks,  Carrie

Patty
Patty is a total joy to have and we feel that she is not just a pet, but a new member of our family.  We have learned that not all dogs are treated as we have always treated ours and that in itself makes Patti so special.  I feel so fortunate to have been led by fate to Patti thru you, Sil.

She is definitely the apple of my eye.  Weird, I know but I feel she is so human.  We did a great job picking her out.  And I think it was fate, I am a believer that Patti was meant to be mine.  Everyone at the vet loves her and her painted nails.  They said she was a very well behaved girl.  Why wouldn't she be?  She is spoiled!

I think you are truly an angel on this earth.  God bless you and your good efforts to offer good homes for the truest friend that a human could ever ask for.  Believe me Sil, your efforts show in every dog's eyes that I saw the day we choose Patti.

I think twice when I see a dog wandering the streets cause at one time that was probably my Patti.  Oh I guess you think I am silly about her but I love her so much!  Again thanks for all the efforts you put in to your dogs.

Sincerely, Cindy

Riley
Riley's been a great addition to our family and to my life.  I couldn't thank you enough.
