I’m Sam. I was the saddest boy in the world and now I am the happiest! Let me tell you my story: I got lost from my home and somehow ended up in a completely foreign neighborhood. I sat there for eight days waiting for my owners (I don’t want to call them family anymore) to find me. I was so frightened of all of the strangers and all of the cars driving by so fast! A really nice lady kept trying for days to convince me to come with her, but I was too scared. Finally I went home with her. How could I know she was a wonderful volunteer with LSBR?

Let me tell you right away that I am deaf, but that’s OK. I’m doing fine. Especially now. I had no idea how wonderful it could be to be loved on, and petted and made to feel that I was special. It’s Heaven! I love being praised and will lick hands and faces to let them know how happy I am. I was afraid of toys at first, but now I’m the first one to run to the toy box! I’m playing with other dogs and having the time of my life! My foster mom says when I run I jump in the air like a reindeer about to take flight. Cool! I’m doing really well with my house training, and I don’t mind my crate at all. I feel safe – finally! I’ve also been told that I’m really smart and sweet. I love my foster home, but I know that I need to look for a forever home, and I can’t wait to start my new life!
