Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Max needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

IN NEED OF A FOSTER HOME UNTIL I CAN BE ADOPTED!

Hello folks......My name is Max....handsome brindle boxer boy!  I was found with a smaller pug/beagle mix (my best friend in the world) close to Valentine’s Day, which is very appropriate as I have such a big heart and so much love to give.  Needless to say, I am a real sweetheart and require lots of love and attention (hugs and kisses)!  I also love being with people and other animals (except stinky cats!).

While I love taking walks, I don’t want to go too far as I get tired out and really need a drink of water (I drink a lot of water).  Of course I am house trained – I go in and out my own special door (pet door) throughout the day, but, as all boxers, could not survive without air‑conditioning.

I rule over the dog food bowl (Iams mini-chucks chicken please) and try to watch out for who may be eating too much (but I’m certainly not going to fight them about it).

Also, my foster parents have spoiled me with daily treats every time they come home (Dingo chicken strips are my favorites, not the bones).  I would suffer through slices of cheese if you run out of treats.

Please remember, I require lots of petting and hugs.  Don’t leave me alone and ignore me, as I think I would be so very unhappy.

While I love taking trips in the car to the lake house and taking walks on a leash, I also spend a lot of time indoors (yes, I admit, I snore).

Keep in mind my best buddy and I would love to stay together if you have that much love.
