Wendy
Wendy

Just wanted to thank everyone at Lone Star Boxer Rescue for Wendy! We got her two days before hurricane Ike, so we didn't change her name - Wendy Waters! She has adjusted well. She loves everyone (except my husband!) and thinks she is a little dog in a big dog's body. She would like to climb in my lap so I could hold her. She loves our morning walks on the greenbelt and running around in the yard. She likes to play with her toys and chase the cat! They finally learned to be friends and give each other kisses! She prefers to drink out of the pool instead of her water bowl! I can't wait til summer to see if she will swim. Our first boxer of 11 years died in July and at first we weren't going to get another one, but I'm glad we did. Wendy is a great dog and we are glad she is with us. I attached a picture of the Christmas card we sent out. She's even photogenic! Thanks again, Donna, Christina and everyone at LSBR. Sincerly, The Waters

BARRETT
BARRETT

Barrett AKA "Bear" When we lost our 6.5 year old Boxer, Maximus, to cancer last July, it left a huge hole in our family. We raised him from a puppy and he was a huge part of our pack. We knew in our hearts that we could never "replace" Max, but we knew that we wanted another Boxer, because obviously, they're the world's best breed of dog. This time around, we wanted to rescue a boxer to give him or her another shot at a great life. Enter Barrett. It took a while for us to actually get him, but as destiny and fate would have it, we ultimately would up with each other in the end. Barrett could never replace Max, but he's done an outstanding job of coming in and blending seamlessly into our pack. We all love him to death! He's basically a 60 pound teddybear of a lap dog who just so happens to look fierce and mean, but he's got a huge, loving heart of gold. He's also the nosiest, most inquisitive dog we've ever met. Our boys love him and his favority thing to do (behind eating) is to stay about 2" off of their heels at all times. He's our third son, just with two extra legs. Where they go, Bear goes. His most exciting part of the day is when the boys get home from school. He also loves our backyard rough and tumble tow-rope sessions and running free at our local park. Bear is a magnificent Boxer and we are just so appreciative of the good folks over at LSBR (Leanne, Bobbie, and Alicia), who went out of their way and the extra mile to put us together. Thank you for helping Bear to repair and restore our "pack". We love him. Best regards, George Eddings Jr.

GODIVA
GODIVA

I wanted to give you an update on Godiva. She is so amazing!!! We recentley moved to Levelland, TX (up near Lubbock) because my fiance got a job up here. The two of them have really taken to each other and now we are a happy little family! She did just have another mass removed, but it did not slow the girl down one bit. She is still the cuddliest dog I have ever met and I have yet to meet a person who doesn't love her. We are still teaching her signs. Our favorite is when she gives us a hug. Anyway, thanks for the awesome two years. I hope we have many more. And I also hope that when we get married my fiance lets us adopt another friend for Godiva. She needs a friend to chase around the yard. Thank you again!!! Peace out and God Bless, Sadie Hadley

Mya
Mya

Just wanted to thank you again for bringing Mya into mine and Spencers life. It has only been 2 months & 10 days since we brought her home. She is starting to adjust but is still a work in progress. She has started to put on some weight and not look so boney. The papers said that she weighted 46 lbs but there was not way. I just took her to the vet 2 wks ago for a check up and wanted to let you know that she got a clean bill of health on her heartworm check and now weights 44 lbs. Her and Spencer get along great until there is food involved which she still has a problem with & I have to feed her outside away from him or she will attack him. He is great with her and lets her have all the toys & sleep where she wants to just to keep her happy. They had a great Christmas and it makes me so happy to see her happy & not being so scared all the time. She warms up to people after a while and everyone she loves her.

I am attaching their picture with Santa & the day after Christmas when they both were just wore out after opening all those gifts Santa brought.

Thank you again and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas & getting ready to have a Happy New Year. Brenda, Spencer & Mya

aka JOKER: Thanksgiving was great, had my 2 kids and 3 grandbabies here and Keith was off so he was able to enjoy it for a change. Joker did fantastic during it all. He rarely EVER counter surfs now and on the rare occasions when he does, he looks for one of us as if to say "I'm up here, am I caught?" We still have the issue of the moaning in the crate for nap or bed yime, but he doesn't bark anymore. Now, we both swear he moans "Momma" LOL He is SUCH a baby and total snuggle hound!! He is walking on the leads now with only the gentle lead and we dont have to bribe him with treats or sneak up on him to put it on. Today, Keith picked up the lead and Joker sat facing him while he put it on!! He has made some remarkable changes and we are so happy with him. We went out of town Dec 5,6,7 and had to board them. (We found a fantastic boarding facility right down the road called Prestonwood Kennels) I was really worried how Joker would take this so we asked for the additional "rub a tummy" time for additional cost. This is where the workers will go in 2 times a day for 15 mins and love on them and spend time in the kennel. They give written reports to you when you check out and Jokers all said he was the sweetest baby!! And when we picked them up, 3 workers HAd to come say bye to Joker and made us promise to bring him back!! Thats our baby!!! I can't imagine life without this sweet loving "goofy" dog in it. He has won our hearts and is a precious addition to our family! God Bless Ann Callan, you, and everyone at LSBR for sticking with us until we found our perfect baby. And to anyone who is passing by all of the deaf dogs.....don't be crazy! Yes, Joker can't hear, but our other dog helps him with some things (like ringing doorbellls and sirens) And besides, he makes up for it in a loads of personality and tons of love and kisses! Whenever you want to visit, just call to be sure we are home and stop in anytime!! Boxer Love To All!! Cindy, Keith, Skeeter and Joker
