Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

 Surrendering your dog

LSBR fields daily calls regarding owner surrenders, strays, and boxers who have been abandoned.  Additionally, many boxers are in high risk shelters that need our help as they only have hours to live.  Our ability to help boxers in need is wholly contingent on adoptions, foster homes, and funding.  We are only able to intake new dogs on a limited basis as current boxers are adopted and/or foster homes become available. As always, LSBR strives to help as many boxers as possible.  A rescuers work is never done, but we hope that as the economy gains strength we will see improvements in the number of boxers that need to come into the program, as well as adoptions and volunteers on the rise.
