Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

My name is Gus, and as you can see, I am adorable. I turned four weeks old on July 29th, and I have really been through a lot of changes in my short life. Some teenagers decided to breed boxers to make money. (I know, I know. Backyard breeding has to stop.) Because they didn't give my poor mother proper nutrition, her milk dried up when my eight siblings and I were about 10 days old. The kids took all of us to a vet to try to find people to care for us. Sadly, some of my siblings died. But I was lucky! A nice lady picked me up and began to bottle-feed me. After four days, she had to give me to Lone Star Boxer Rescue since her work schedule couldn’t accommodate my frequent feedings. I am now in a wonderful foster home, but I will need a loving, permanent home in a few weeks. I love to growl and play, but I am also crazy about my naps. I've been told I am smart since I “go potty” as soon as my feet touch the grass. My foster mom seems pretty impressed by that. Won't you consider adding me as a "permanent" member of your family?
