Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Learn more about the Boxer.

I am such a Lucky boy! I was rescued by a nice family from the median of I-10, and I was so scared and hungry. They took me immediately to the vet where they determined I had hook worms, an eye infection, an ear infection and many infected cuts and wounds. I’m much better now, and luckily, I don’t have heartworms! I’m about one and one-half and weigh 75 pounds. I’ve learned some basic commands (sit and stay), and I sleep in an unlocked crate at night (I’m not really crate trained yet). I love to cuddle and just want some hugs and love. Is that so wrong? I walk nicely on a leash, I’m house trained and I use a doggy door. I don’t bark much, but I love to talk to my foster parents when they are preparing my breakfast or dinner. Speaking of food, I can be a bit of a beggar at meal times, but once I am told “no,” I know what to. I think I would be happiest as the only dog in the family. I’m just a big dog full of love, ready to share it with you.
