Lone Star Boxer Rescue is the Houston Chapter of Austin Boxer Rescue, a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the boxer breed. LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home boxers that come to us from many sources including local animal shelters, owner surrenders, and strays. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to allow us to save more dogs in need throughout the state of Texas.

Think about all of the incredible women you have heard of or read about who were named Eleanor: Eleanor Roosevelt. Eleanor of Aquitaine. Eleanor Rigby (no – let’s don’t go there right now…). What I’m saying is that I am an awesome dog that shares this wonderful name, which means “shining light,” with some amazing ladies. And I’m pretty amazing myself. Now, don’t think I’m a bad mom, but my baby, Rigby, was just about to wear me out (as much as I loved him!), but it was time for him to go off on his own… and now it is time for Eleanor! I’m looking for a sweet mom or dad who will pamper ME!

My foster mom says that the perfect life for me would be to spend my life on someone's sofa, cuddling and watching Masterpiece Theater. (But really – who knew you needed subtitles to watch something in English??) I live with a great family and I’m gaining weight and having fun. And I love their dogs and kids. I’m doing well with my house and leash training, and I actually like my crate. I’m playful, but calm (just as you would expect of an Eleanor). If you asked me what I like best, it would be (in no particular order): going for walks, riding in the car, playing with toys… and napping!!!! Oh – and best of all – pampering! Don’t you think I deserve it??
