LSBR/ABR is run and managed 100% by volunteers since 1999. Nate (aka Buddy)
Nate (aka Buddy)

Our boy is doing real well, has put some weight on and is now the brave protector of the house! he had his annual vet visit for shots late summer and came through with a clean bill of heath for heartworm. we are just overjoyed to have him as part of our family! My mum and dad came to visit and just fell in love - they are coming back over in November - I think mainly to visit Buddy than to see me! hehe. Buddy has my dad wrapped around his little claw! we have been practicing at obedience training and he is getting extremely good at his commands. He is sooo intelligent (although can pretend to be oblivious when he wants) and is such a character that he has fit right in at home as the perfect pet. we are looking forward to the cooler weather so we can have longer walks in the park - just a bit too hot for him in the summer. MALAKAI
MALAKAI

We got Roxy in April 08 as a foster placement. This sweet girl immediately stole our heart (and our beds). She had a really bad case of mange but now is a beautiful girl. As you can see, Roxy does not care WHO she sleeps with as long as she is laying with *someone. :) We have been fostering children for 13 years and I think Roxy is very intuitive that these children coming into our home need unconditional love, just as she does. Because Roxy has such a gentle disposition, We are going to have her trained as a therapy dog. It is a role she would excel at. Being a therapy dog would also help promote adoption of dogs in rescue. Adopting Roxy may have saved her life but she is repaying us by helping the children who come through our door. What a great partnership we have!

THE DUKE
THE DUKE

We adopted Zeno (formerly 'The Duke') a year ago. We wanted a dog that would be a companion to our very active lab, Jazz. We knew he was the right fit when we brought Jazz to the adoption day and they immediately started racing and chasing around the yard. They've been racing and chasing ever since!! They love to play and wrestle like they are truly brother and sister! He's so sweet and loving and full of energy. We love spending time outdoors so Zeno spends lots of time romping through the woods, playing at the creek and swimming at the lake. He is such a good fit with our family that we've decided boxers are now our breed, we wish we could have more of them! Thank you, LSBR,for the work that you do and thank you for bringing Zeno to our family!! Meagan LeLeux

OWEN
OWEN

Hello...this is Jill Longtin...i adopted Ranger (Owen) about a year ago. Since then I have lost my heart. This is one fabulous dog. I just want to thank you all for all you do. I cant tell you what this gentleman means to me. He has become a loyal friend, a great protector for both myself and my mother who lives with me. I dont know how i managed without him! I am horrible remembering names...but i want to thank all that helped me in getting him-from the home visit person to those that care for the dogs...I didn't want a male to begin with....ive always had female dogs. But i listened to your advice, since i have two older female dogs at home-a older male was recommended. You folks at LSBR are angels in disguise. thanks again. J

CONNOR
CONNOR

Hi Cindi! I just wanted to write and let you know Conner (now spelled Konn'r) is doing fabulous! We drove that eleven hours home and he slept most of the way. Now he's becoming more comfortable in the surroundings here in El Paso and it's going great. We go to the park and walk up and down the mountain. I take him to PetsMart with me whenever we need something and I always get this herd of people "Oh he's so cute and friendly and I have a boxer too..." lol. It's been really, really amazing how well he has done. So I'm going to attach a few pictures and I hope to be in touch soon!
